Sarita: Passed PMP on 21st December in first Attempt – LL

I cleared PMP exam on 21st in my first attempt. I wish to share my LL on this
I started studying an year back in bits and pieces but never spent dedicated time until I booked exam on 21st. My suggestion is to book the exam when you have done 60% of your studies. Booking exam immediately puts you in the exam taking mode and you start putting dedicated efforts. Purchasing PMPrepcast is the easiest and cheapest way to get 35 PDUs.  I did my studies from PMBOK, Rita’s Fastrack, Headfirst.

Rita Mulcahy’s PM Fastrack Exam Simulation Software for the PMP Exam: Version

Read every chapter from PMBOK first, then read Rita and solve all the question of that chapter from Rita fasttrack and then read PMBOK chapter again. This will help you to understand the PMI terminologies well. I did not memorize all ITTOs. I just did Scope, Risk and quality ITTOs. Rest you can remember if you know the logical flow.

As you near the exam, take at least 3 mock tests of 4 hours. Remember it is the test of physical endurance too. Make sure that you check all the wrong answers. I took Rita, PMStudy and Headfirst mock tests a week before the exam. That was really helpful. Reading entire PMBOK from start to finish in the last week will help a lot. Lastly, be confident when you go for the exam. Try meditation techniques if you get nervous while taking exam. Take two breaks during the exam to empty your mind and focusing. -Sarita
