Natetc: Passed PMP Aug 29th – 2 days before the change

So I passed the PMP on Monday, two days before the examination change. The only difference between myself and everyone else is that I took and passed the CAPM last year which provided a great foundation and gave me experience for what to expect on the PMP. I used a full 2 months to complete this, studied 1-2 hours during the weekdays and a lot more on weekends.
Test Day
As I arrived at the examination room and at least 80% of the people were taking the PMP, we were all scheduled around the same time. As I sat down at the PC to start the exam, the first screen requires you to confirm your name and the exam you are writing within the first minute. Next is the 15 minute tutorial which I used to dump page 43 of the PMBOK. I didn’t write down anything else as I knew the formulas.

Fast forward 4 hours.
I click on the ‘end’ button to complete the exam and after 5 seconds of a blank white screen, which actually seemed like minutes, an option to complete a survey came up. I politely declined and clicked on the ‘end’ button again, and after 3 more seconds of a blank white screen ‘congratulations’ came up. My heart started to beat at a normal pace again and I was so excited that I didn’t relish the screen, clicked ‘next’ and was done. End result I was ‘moderately proficient’ in all 6 categories.

Problems in studying
The only problem I encountered through this process was writing the Super PMP and Lehmann’s tests, the scores that I received severely knocked down my confidence. With a week to go I was a bit nervous because of those results, but after writing the PMP and Head First again I was able to score considerably higher and fully knew I could pass the exam.

Studying method:
Month 1:
Read Rita’s book/Questions
PMP Test – Rita’s Fast track program (scored low 60’s)
Head First Test – 175 Questions (scored high 60’s)

Month 2:
Read Rita’s book/Questions
2 weeks left:
Super PMP Test – Rita’s Fast track program (scored mid 50’s)
1 week left:
Lehmann’s Test – 200 questions (scored mid 50’s)
4 days left:
Head First Test – 175 Questions (scored low 80’s)
2 days left:
PMP Test – Rita’s Fast track program (scored mid 70’s)

*Thanks to the PMHub Admin whose put up with some of my silly questions throughout this process, and the community for all their advice and insight!*
