PMI-ACP - New PM certification +37 PDU

JayeshNagda: PMP on 12 April

Hi Friends,

I cleared my PMP on 12 April, pretty satisfied for all the efforts put in
Here is how did I go with my studies
– PMBOK for the Phases and Knowledge Areas, remembering them phase-wise helped me remeber them as a link, and relating them to my SDLC software life cycle.
– I refered Rita Mulcahy for the exam, thus now covers those missing gaps and small minute details that you might have not thought about. Eg – Planning is one phase that has a set order, can be repeated many time.
– When it was 20 days before exams I started giving tests, free available ones. before exam I had tried Rita Mulcahy test 4 hrs for 4 times … coudn’t score more than 80..  there were always the same gaps .. and I found that I had kept predecided time for breaks 50,100,150 200 .. This is baad . cause it showed me that every time I neared a mid-milestone I used to get hasty and have a set of incorrect answers. be extra caution when u have the hasty feeling.
Total time – 3 months overview + 3 months heads down study..

Tips :
Understand and memorise your gaps. Memorise because what you do on a normal day is always that come to your mind first. So even though question reappeared in front of me and if I wasnt convinced on the answer, next time I used to answer it wrong again
Go through definitions provided behind the PMBOK, you will find 20% at least questions directly from here
ITTOs are must .. but try and link them to the process.
I had some very nasty question where none of the answers seemed right, or I had answers never seen or heard about, dont get confused stick to your basics and if still you cant decide on right answer, take a guess mark and move ahead.
Be active on the group, it helps ..

Note from PMHUB admin: we have replaced wrong names: PM Book to PMBOK and Rita Mulhacy to Mulcahy. i to I etc, the rest of the text is kept as it is.
