Question Explanation :

Conflict solving approaches are (ranged by suggested order to deal with the conflict):

* Problem solving/Confrontation: solving the problem to ensure it is fully resolved. Confrontation is generally the best way to solve conflicts, as it leads to a Win-Win situation.

* Compromise: The second best way. Finding solutions that bring some degree of satisfaction to all parties. This is a Lose-Lose situation.

* Smoothing: This practice can only help to pacify and soothe both parties, but can not satisfactorily solve the problem.

* Withdrawal/Avoidance: both parties withdraw from the dispute and defer the problem; the problem has not been resolved. Deferring the problem is meant as only a temporary measure.

* Forcing: pushing one viewpoint at the expense of another. It is the worst way of conflict resolution, and is a Win-Lose situation.
