Has anyone used materials by Joseph Philips to pass the PMP exam? Did you find the resources complete or simply a supplement to other materials?

I just noticed the Nov. 15 rule update.

I am an IT person, and have managed a number of implementation projects in my carreer. I started as a DBA and now, I am a Business Intelligence manager. I work in a big University, and we are implementing a new project to deploy Data Warehousing and Business Analytics. This enterprise-wide solution will allow executive to have access to fresh data at all time and be able to manipulate it without needing to go through the IT department for every query or report.
I am managing this project and I am preparing for the PMP exam. I am looking forward to be part of this great site in order to be able to share in the discussions and access the knowledge base.

0I have been working for over 14 years, of which the initial 4 years were more administrative job and eventually started working on 'Projects'. In my 10 years, I have worked in various types of projects and each project is new. I have never come across a project that was like (not even close) any other project that I have already worked on or managed. Until recently, I was working on multiple projects (at the same time) for the same customer. For the first time, I am expected to work on multiple projects for different clients. This is when I realised that I should solidify my experience with the PMP certification

I have started preparing for PMP thrice in the last 3 years and lost interest as I found just the book(s) were too theoretical. I am looking for the smart way of passing the PMP certification.

I will assure that I would NOT be a 'leech' of the site and in fact contribute to existing discussions.

Dear Admin

I did my PMP first time in 2003. That time there were not so many people taking up this certification. I too did it with only 1 objective - to pass and get certified. Over the years what i learn is that some of the knowledge actually can be put to practice. I did not renew my transcript after 2003. Over these year i have gained knowledge and experience as a practicing PM and i am re-evaluating to take the PMP certification again specially after the Aug 31 change. I would love to share my understanding and practical knowledge on any of the focus area in this forum. Please allow me to be a contributing member.

Hi,I had been a self-employed builder for many years and am now getting into employed construction management.I have obtained work as a manager on a new 40 floor build and I think passing the CAPM exam could lead to advancement(am 6wks in)-what do you think?
