Approaching 80,000 members - Updated Nov 2011

Postby PMHUBadmin » Thu Sep 08, 2011 6:04 pm

Soon, PMHUB will have its 80,000th member. At this moment, i just activated member #75,999.

New rules:
1. please use your company e-mail address (not Yahoo. Hotmail address, not Google address please)
2 to get activated as member, you should be able to answer 1 of 3 simple questions in store. If you are not able to answer this then write to [email protected] asking for activation, the name of the company you work with and your job title

Additional note Sept 14, 2011:
since almost all new members ignore rule no 1 - we replace rule 1 with:
Newly registered members need to post 3 times to be accepted as regular member
Regular member can post directly without going through the spam filter and can download Files like JIMBOK etc....

Nov 15 - new members are now evaluated based on their FIRST posting which need to be moderated. If the posting show the member is a PM and really interested in this forum discussion, the person will be promoted directly to regular member. So please do not post irrelevant comments: like "allow me to download", "allow me to post" Be specific and tell PMHUB what you know and what you can share and why you want to be certified or tell us more about yourself professionally....

Thanks for explaining the rules. I am not allowed to use my work email for mailing lists, so I have to use my gmail address. The 3 posts are a slight inconvenience, but much better than being unable to join with my personal email address.

This is NOT a mailing list. Nothing will be sent to your company mailbox, except the forum activation

It will be easier to know that a new member is NOT a spammer just by looking at e-mail address. Otherwise there is no way until the new member post something .... and by that time it is too late. In 5 minutes, the spammer can post 20 spams

Thanks for allowing personal email for registering. I think still 3 posts before becoming regular member is little inconvenient. I have to make 3 posts before I contribute something valuable. Thanks

I want also to comment on the contribution by new member. You do not have to wait until 3 postings to contribute. You can contribute any time, nobody prevent you. However I am not happy with those comments like "please allow me to download JIMBOK", "please accept me as member", "this is my second posts" etc etc... these show that you are not really contributing anything except workload to the admin...

You can always post something relevant to PM by asking question, posting comment and even posting new topics on PM matters? Please do not post frivolous comments and in the end new members behaviour is not much different than spammers...

I think the policy of 3 posts is great as it filters those whom want to spam from others whom really want to enhance their knowledge and be active members .

Hi,

I am a pmp aspirant and currently reading the pmbok (4th edition), Andy Crowe and PMPrecast as my study material. Cornelius has recommended this site for forums and so am here. I have few questions and feel I need some elaborations on few concepts in Time Management to understand them better.
Here are some items I need help with -
1. I need more examples for leads Lags, FS,SS, etc .. this is not only important for PMP but scheduling is also one of the most activities at work too.
2. Is Andy Crowe (4th edition), PMPrepcast (updated for 2011) and PMBOK (4th edition) enough and ofcourse I plan to take atleast 4 practice exams, but is everything covered in the study material I am referring to?
I hope this post qualifies me to be a regular member and also how do I know I am a regular member now?

Thanks,
Prashant

Prashant:
When posting,it is better to start anew - do no tuse POST A REPLY to a thread that has nothing to do with the topic that you post.By doing this, your post will get a reply - otherwise it might be ignored by others
