Answer and Explanation to Yesterday's Question

The Project Manager is utilizing a new set of planning tools that are a great deal more detailed than he has used before. One tool he uses is a WBS dictionary. What can a WBS dictionary do for the project?

A)  Control Gold Plating (Correct)

B)  Provide task definitions

C)  Verify the Scope of the project

D)  Define the work of the project

Explanation: The WBS dictionary focuses on defining what work should happen in what order. Thus, it helps create a structure for only the work of the project to be done in the right sequence and can help eliminate Gold Plating. Defining the work of the project would be done in the Initiating Process and Scope Planning. Verifying the Scope of the project would be done after the work of the project is complete. Providing task definitions is noise.
